@gutenberg_org Odd choice of language in the article.

E.g. "legendary"? And the article refers to "the mythical specimens Hannibal took across the Alps".

Hannibal's use of war elephants is attested by Polybius, who wrote a few decades later. While there were questions about the number of elephants and the route taken, I think there has never been serious doubt that he used them.
