@geekysteven Random thought after reading your post: cars. When they were knew they had so many downsides and fatalities that it took a lot of laws, lobbying and destruction of alternative modes of transportation (streetcars) 100 years ago to make them „here to stay“. The downsides didn’t vanish as we all know.
We might be at a sinilar point where the industry will lobby, legislate and destroy alternative modes of computing to make AI „here to stay“.

@geekysteven My response is usually something like, "AI yes, LLMs no." My technical knowledge doesn't go much deeper than that, but if the other person has no coherent response to that, they're just BSing anyway.
