@Theeo123

He’s doing God’s work, Mr Rossmann, yet for these devices, I resent having to walk through the neighborhood where they can be doing this form of privacy intrusion in general. If there becomes a hack that allows people to disable this that’s all well and good, but every individual walking in front of these things doesn’t have a choice.

Coupled with the hated flock cameras and police using thrones willy-nilly. Nah man.

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @Theeo123 I see you. Still, the best way to get out of a dumpster on society is to help those who've already fallen into it why the comfy couch in it is a lie and how to get out. Just buying new stuff isn't a good solution, neither is to throw away everything (for many people it really would be *everything*).

Fixed Ring cams should probably be marked as safe by their owners though.

@Natanox @Theeo123

The topic has become somewhat of a peeve of mine because everywhere in the area that I live people are putting up surveillance cameras on the outside of their homes and it’s obnoxious you walk down the street and everywhere there are these things staring back at you.

I think it’s something of a fan/scare where people in big fancy homes are keeping up with the Joneses.

I’d like to change people’s outlook by saying your advertising that you’re really creepy people

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @Theeo123 I think this societal move towards cameras and distrust had a name, not sure what it was called… but yeah, it sucks. I see more cameras in Germany as well, however here we at least technically have laws prohibiting anyone from pointing cameras towards anything that isn't their property, or forcing them to implement technical measures that black out anything that isn't theirs *before* it is saved anywhere.

Not like US companies like Ring give a shit.
