Palermo 1885, carretto siciliano

Disgusting. Frontex is building an ‘AI chatbot app’ to encourage repatriations
‚The Border Agency of the European Union, Frontex, is building a mobile application for individuals who are voluntarily or forcibly deported from Europe, as part of its EU Reintegration Programme (EURP).
The application will come equipped with an ‘AI chatbot’ feature, which allows deportees to learn about the available services within the program, such as the opening hours of the nearest return counseling centers, or the financial incentives offered to individuals who accept to travel back to their country of citizenship (given the relative lack of choice people face, some scholars prefer the term ‘self-deportation’)...‘

I am a mother of three, and I am devastated when I cannot meet their basic needs.
Circumstances have become overwhelming, and I have no source of income.
Every contribution—even a small one—makes a real difference in our lives and gives us hope.
Thank you to everyone who lends a helping hand 🤍👨👩👧👦🇵🇸

In January, a post I saw shocked me.
“URGENT: As of now, I have ZERO access to any money,” Hüseyin Dogru wrote. “I can’t provide food for my family, including two newborns, due to #EU sanctions.”
Dogru is a journalist, a German citizen living in #Berlin.
After reading his post, I sent him a private message offering to order groceries and have them sent to his home.
The reply shocked me even more. “Unfortunately, I’m not allowed to accept any financial or material support,” Dogru wrote.
Dogru is the first European Union citizen known to be living inside the EU to face extrajudicial sanctions imposed by Brussels – robbing him of fundamental civil and humanitarian rights.
He’s also the first person to be sanctioned specifically for his reporting related to #Palestine.
“I’m not allowed to exist anymore, I’m not allowed to provide my children with the basic necessities,” he explained on The Electronic Intifada Podcast this week.
“I can’t pay my rent, I can’t pay my lawyers and yes – I’m not even allowed to accept any kind of food, water or medicine whatsoever from third parties.”

Cyclone Harry’s Mediterranean Massacre: At Least 1,000 Migrants Lost at Sea, Fortress Europe’s Deadly Legacy
‚Cyclone Harry tore through the central Mediterranean in mid-January 2026 with a ferocity that shattered records—winds howling at gale force, waves cresting 16 meters, rain falling in sheets across southern Italy, Malta, and Tunisia. On land, the storm flooded homes, created landslides and crippled infrastructure leaving billions of euros worth of devastation in its wake. At sea, it became a slaughter….‘
