"Hello, lovely backers!
I'm launching what is likely the first dedicated Covid safe dating website, CovidSafeDate.com. If you visit the site right now, there's some functionality already! You can register for free and post in the geographically organized forums. The site is welcome to all Covid safe adults, all genders, all sexual orientations, monogamous, non-monoganous (as long as you communicate it), people with Long Covid, Novids, people who used to go around maskless but now do wear a respirator mask in public, and we're also strong supporters of a Free Palestine and trans rights.
CovidMeetups doesn't cut it. It's not a site dedicated to dating. I had no luck on the site and I live in a big city (Toronto), and it's owned by WHN, cofounded by a man who's in the Epstein files, Yaneer Bar-Yam. Yaneer is also eager to defend the other WHN cofounder, Eric Ding, for his constantly being maskless in public. How do I know? I was a WHN volunteer in 2023.
I'm launching an Indiegogo campaign for it next week, and that will help me pay my friend, Stop Gen AI's own Hardworking Netizen (that's their public name) to do the rest of the work maintaing the site, which will give me more time to finish Technofascism Survival Guide, and for me to keep leading Stop Gen AI.
I gotta create these crisis management projects. I gotta keep being the change I want to see in the world. Trust me, if there was a proper Covid dating site already or if Covid avoiders weren't treated like kryptonite on other dating sites (avoiding the plague like the plague, imagine that!), I wouldn't have made CovidSafeDate.com. Making my own dating website wasn't my plan B, or even my plan G, for looking for love. 😖
Founding Stop Gen AI last year also wasn't my first resort. Unfortunately, it's pretty much the only anticapitalist org dedicated to helping ordinary people avoid Gen AI. 😖 We do have lots of great group members though, so there's that.
Some jerk on Mastodon today told me Stop Gen AI isn't legit because we don't support any politicians. 🙃🙃🙃 Yeah buddy, show me all the anti Gen AI politicians* in western capitalist countries.
("Regulating AI" and "Responsible AI" 🙃 doesn't count, evil things should be illegal, not "regulated." In the 20th century when the dangers of tobacco smoking became public knowledge, there were politicians connected to tobacco companies talking about regulating tobacco, so that their tobacco company campaign donors could continue the tobacco biz. Democrats saying "Gen AI should be regulated!" are a Trojan horse for Open AI's continued existence. Gen AI is planet destroying and should be ILLEGAL, not "regulated.")
And both my Digital Safety in a Dangerous World and Technofascism Survival Guide books.
I do have comrades helping me with my projects, but I had to start the projects
I think I'm rambling about all this because all these crises are going to intensify in public understanding soon, as the very rare Saturn Neptune conjunction makes a once in several centuries appearance at 0 degrees Aries on Friday. Yes, I have studied astrology for over 20 years, thanks for asking.
I will share the Indiegogo link for Covid Safe Date here as soon as it launches next week. But the CovidSafeDate.com website is in beta, and ready to be used, free-of-charge for all members.
I'm exhausted by having to create so many projects to manage crises.
But, I have comrades helping me out. I would be nothing without them. And I have my crowdfund backers too, whom I'm immensely appreciative of.
At 42 years old now, that's my life these days. I go back and forth between working on all three of these projects. Then I play video games, read books for fun, do my hour of Japanese lessons everyday, shower, clean my apartment, and sleep. Oh, and write blogs and whitepapers for Cloud Security Partners.
I have no kids, no partner right now, I live in a one human household (my teddy bears would be pissed if I said I live alone), my internet comrades, you included, are my everything.
My reason to live
My reason to keep going
Cheers,
Kim"
