Since Roman times, people have bathed in the healing waters of this region. After a popular 17th-century novel sang the praises of the healing waters, the hot springs became popular. A new spa resort was built, which remained popular until the mid-20th century.

By the 1980s the spa finally closed.

👼🎻 La Chapelle de L’ange au Violon (The Chapel of the Angel with the Violin). France

This 19th-century family chapel sits in the grounds of an estate in southern France. Violin-playing stone angels decorate the columns of the sanctuary. The tall vaulted Gothic ceiling is collapsing. Most of the stained glass windows lay empty, the glass naturally dislodging as the decades progressed.
