Furthermore, we know how important the task of discrediting survivor testimony is to the Epstein class as a whole, because we saw it play out very publicly in 2017 with the #MeToo movement, and the organized backlash against it by abusive men with positions of power in our society. How would the world's most famous pedophile, and those in his orbit respond to a society-wide shift in the discourse encouraging us to "believe women" and survivors? Well, if his inbox is any indication, #Epstein himself helped organize the backlash to discredit the movement, at the prompting of Michael Wolff; who is being exposed as an enabler for Epstein's influence trading operation and image rehabilitation efforts, through these file releases.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2026/feb/06/epstein-files-metoo

Epstein said he was ‘asked everyday’ for advice on #MeToo: ‘So many guys reaching out to me’

"But when taken together, the emails, texts and other documents contained in the releases reveal Epstein’s engagement with the #MeToo movement and the men felled by it. In some cases, the convicted child sex offender and a coterie of elites strategized over how to blunt the power of the #MeToo movement and the women who fueled it.

“So many guys caught in the me too . reaching out to me. asking when does the madness stop,” Epstein wrote in December 2018 to a recipient whose identity is redacted."

Like every article about Epstein plotting with influential people, this piece is a hot mess that simultaneously drops too many bombshell revelations to keep track of, while also minimizing how deeply incriminating all of this is for literally anyone emailing the world's most famous pedophile blackmailer for advice on how to handle sexual assault, abuse, and harassment allegations against them or their rich friends. I guess if you know you're guilty, you turn to the guy who literally got away with a sex trafficking ring through networking and top flight public relations management, right?

If you want all the good dirt, you're going to have to read the whole article but let's put publicist #PeggySiegall, intellectual #NoamChomsky, and technologist #JoiIto on the "confirmed friends and confidants of Epstein who vented with him about #MeToo" list, "journalist" #RichardWolff, and scientist #LawrenceKrauss on the "strategized with Epstein about how to discredit survivor accusations and accounts in the wake of the #MeToo movement" list, and noted creep abusers outed during the #MeToo reckoning #StephenElliott and #LorinStein on standby because we don't have them talking to Epstein directly, but Richard Wolff sought out Epstein's advice on their behalf and it would appear that Elliot in particular acted on that advice.

And that is the part I want to focus on, because while I'm tempted to believe The Guardian buried the lede here, the reality that Epstein was deeply involved in developing a strategy to protect other powerful rich men accused of abusing their status to engage in sexual violence and harassment against women is exposed in the article - they just broke it up into two parts.

"Wolff wanted Epstein to support Stephen Elliott, a writer looking to sue the creator of the Shitty Media Men List, a crowd-sourced Google Doc that detailed anonymous allegations of misconduct against dozens of men who worked in the media industry.

“I have always thought that the way back from this climate is through specific instances of individuals successfully challenging their persecution,” Wolff wrote to Epstein, according to emails released in a tranche from the so-called Epstein files. “If his story is solid he might be worth supporting.”

Initially, Epstein was unmoved. In a single-word, no-punctuation email, the convicted sexual offender replied: “tough.”

“Give it some further thought, if you would,” wrote Wolff, who had originally received Elliott’s pitch through Lorin Stein, the former editor of the prestigious Paris Review and another name on the Shitty Media Men List. “I think there is an opening here. What you need is an excuse – or opportunity – to make the public argument.”

Epstein relented: “ill help anyway i can. if you like.”

Weeks later, Elliott sued Moira Donegan, the Shitty Media Men List’s creator."

Of course, we only have access to the Epstein emails already released, so all we know is that tons of influential people seemed to think Epstein was the go-to guy on #MeToo; which is incriminating in its own right. But as the Guardian slyly notes later, the proof of the plot is kind of in the pudding.

"Wolff’s apparent suggestion, that accused individuals file lawsuit proved prescient, since defamation lawsuits have become a major feature of the backlash to #MeToo. As of last year, nearly a fifth of the 400-plus cases supported by the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund, a post- #MeToo organization that helps people who survived sexual harassment at work, were in defense of someone sued for defamation."

Folks the plot to erase "believe women" as an IDEA goes deep.

So, I'd like to burn a post to start what may become a regular feature in this thread, to talk about the rhetorical slides and mental gymnastics a significant portion of our Western establishment, its media, and other Very Serious PeopleTM in the discourse use to minimize, or justify dismissing the Epstein scandal, and news coming out of it that seems to implicate a whole spiderweb of rich and powerful people (mostly men) in the Pig Empire. More than ideas, these are arguments frequently seeded in this discourse by media outlets beholden to the same billionaire class being exposed in the so-called "Epstein Files" released by the Department of Justice, designed to discredit discussions about the crimes against women and girls billionaire abusers have committed, and drive attention away from the guilty parties - many of whom, unlike Epstein himself, still walk in sunshine on this green Earth.

For example, one idea frequently propagated either implicitly, or directly, is that if there was anything to the public belief that Epstein was running a billionaire pedophile trafficking ring, the proper authorities would have uncovered it and done something about it. This is a reasonable-sounding argument, but after half a thread of stories demonstrating that the Trump Departments of Justice (both of them) actively broke the law to hide the names and evidence collected surrounding the Epstein trafficking ring, I should hope you now understand why it isn't. I can assure you that then-US Attorney Alex Acosta, also moved heaven and earth to keep this all under wraps - ultimately letting Epstein go with a slap on the wrist after pleading to two reduced charges. The simple truth is that for reasons we can only speculate on (and none of that speculation looks good for our establishment btw) the people responsible for "doing something" have actively worked to hide Epstein's crimes, held almost no one accountable, and at every turn failed the victims of the Epstein ring entirely.

Which brings me to the second rhetorical slide deployed to minimize and obfuscate the accusations against powerful men emerging from the Epstein Files. Specifically the idea that direct witness testimony from women and girls victimized by Epstein and his associates, carries no more weight than anonymous tips, or hearsay reports. As any first year law student will tell you, this is nonsense, but by leveraging the fact that many victims have reached settlements with the Epstein estate, and organizations that facilitated those abuses, all of which contain non-disclosure agreements, apologists have tried to make it appear as if Epstein ring accusers are small in number, isolated, and not particularly trustworthy. This is of course absurd, because the DoJ itself has admitted it is aware of over a thousand Epstein victims; even while denying the existence of a trafficking ring. This effort to conflate survivor testimony with hearsay and rumors, is aided by the fact that many survivors of Epstein and his associates, choose to share their stories anonymously, out of (very reasonable, as we'll discuss later in this thread) fear of reprisals from the extremely wealthy and powerful men who abused them through Epstein's trafficking ring.

You know what isn't anonymous, and can't be subversively discredited by in pocket media minions? Nine figure settlements paid out by gigantic banks to Epstein survivors for their role in facilitating the world's most famous pedophile blackmailer's abuses.

JPMorgan's $290 million settlement with Epstein accusers approved by US judge: https://www.reuters.com/legal/us-judge-weigh-jpmorgans-290-million-settlement-with-epstein-accusers-2023-11-09/

As you'll discover if you Google a bit, JP Morgan isn't the only bank who settled with Epstein survivors (Deutsche Bank coughed up 75 million) nor is this the only expensive settlement JPM made. While neither institution admitted any wrongdoing, you clearly don't understand how capitalism works if you think these folks just forked over enough money to buy their own island because of "rumors." This is of course on top of the $121M in settlements the Epstein Estate paid out, and doesn't include any settlements Epstein paid out after his 2008 conviction either - some of which are just now coming to light. Were these settlements part of a coverup themselves? Some of Epstein's victims believe so:

Did Jeffrey Epstein’s Victims Fund Protect His Allies?: https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2021/10/01/jeffrey-epstein-victim-fund-ken-feinberg-511829

Please keep in mind, these are only the payouts related to Epstein himself that we know about. Have other rich and powerful men reached settlements with Epstein survivors to hide their crimes? At least one infamous person in a position to know says yes they have:

Folks, people wouldn't be working this hard and bleeding out this much money to silence Epstein's victims, if their testimony didn't have value as evidence. Sometimes it really is as simple as "following the money."
