And yes. We pay more to the state.
In return we get free healthcare, free college, and 49 weeks of fully paid parental leave. We do not have to crowd-fund our cancer treatments. Your 'low taxes' just mean you pay private corporations a premium for the privilege of still going broke when you get sick.
Our system is an investment in human dignity. Yours is a GoFundMe waiting to happen. The math is really not that complicated
