I don't understand why the adverts for the UK TV licence that are beong played on BBC Radio 4 include the statement that the licence also covers you to listen to Radio 4.
When I last looked, you did not need a TV licence to listen to the radio.
Has something changed?

BBC to start a new licence fee for people receiving wavelengths from 380 to 750 nanometers! In terms of frequency, this corresponds to a band in the vicinity of 400–790 terahertz! 😱

Broadcast TV is weird, aside from being 75% plus repeats.

I read that freeview was being allowed to decline. For some reason they think that streaming is the future.
They are possibly going to make you pay per stream.

Who in their right minds are going to want endless repeats. So this way, BBC are signing their own DEMISE.

Also, freesat is failing losing suppliers.
More demise. No broadcast TV ?

@robpumphrey Well the BBC want to bring back an additional radio licence or levy (as per pre 1971) so I expect they are playing around with emphasising that at the moment.

@emsquared @robpumphrey it was that long ago? Wow! I was sure the radio licence was still a thing but it appears it was abolished before I was even born! I also didn't realise colour TV was an add on at the start.

No licence needed to listen to the radio.

The advert is misleading at best.
