What I am trying to find out is what people have heard to establish whether or not the *assertion* about public understanding is as economists claim.
To give an example of why I think the phrasing of a question could make a huge impact. If people interpreted come to power as becoming politically powerful Hitler was indeed incredibly popular overwhelmingly popular in the early 1920s.
And then he had a vacation..
And then he ended up in political office in the early 1930s.

So depending on how people interpret come to power whether it means politically influential or had official public office two very distinct things which maybe people don't think about too much and the way things get described get a bit fuzzy and so on and so forth
