So, I'd like to burn a post to start what may become a regular feature in this thread, to talk about the rhetorical slides and mental gymnastics a significant portion of our Western establishment, its media, and other Very Serious PeopleTM in the discourse use to minimize, or justify dismissing the Epstein scandal, and news coming out of it that seems to implicate a whole spiderweb of rich and powerful people (mostly men) in the Pig Empire. More than ideas, these are arguments frequently seeded in this discourse by media outlets beholden to the same billionaire class being exposed in the so-called "Epstein Files" released by the Department of Justice, designed to discredit discussions about the crimes against women and girls billionaire abusers have committed, and drive attention away from the guilty parties - many of whom, unlike Epstein himself, still walk in sunshine on this green Earth.
For example, one idea frequently propagated either implicitly, or directly, is that if there was anything to the public belief that Epstein was running a billionaire pedophile trafficking ring, the proper authorities would have uncovered it and done something about it. This is a reasonable-sounding argument, but after half a thread of stories demonstrating that the Trump Departments of Justice (both of them) actively broke the law to hide the names and evidence collected surrounding the Epstein trafficking ring, I should hope you now understand why it isn't. I can assure you that then-US Attorney Alex Acosta, also moved heaven and earth to keep this all under wraps - ultimately letting Epstein go with a slap on the wrist after pleading to two reduced charges. The simple truth is that for reasons we can only speculate on (and none of that speculation looks good for our establishment btw) the people responsible for "doing something" have actively worked to hide Epstein's crimes, held almost no one accountable, and at every turn failed the victims of the Epstein ring entirely.
Which brings me to the second rhetorical slide deployed to minimize and obfuscate the accusations against powerful men emerging from the Epstein Files. Specifically the idea that direct witness testimony from women and girls victimized by Epstein and his associates, carries no more weight than anonymous tips, or hearsay reports. As any first year law student will tell you, this is nonsense, but by leveraging the fact that many victims have reached settlements with the Epstein estate, and organizations that facilitated those abuses, all of which contain non-disclosure agreements, apologists have tried to make it appear as if Epstein ring accusers are small in number, isolated, and not particularly trustworthy. This is of course absurd, because the DoJ itself has admitted it is aware of over a thousand Epstein victims; even while denying the existence of a trafficking ring. This effort to conflate survivor testimony with hearsay and rumors, is aided by the fact that many survivors of Epstein and his associates, choose to share their stories anonymously, out of (very reasonable, as we'll discuss later in this thread) fear of reprisals from the extremely wealthy and powerful men who abused them through Epstein's trafficking ring.
You know what isn't anonymous, and can't be subversively discredited by in pocket media minions? Nine figure settlements paid out by gigantic banks to Epstein survivors for their role in facilitating the world's most famous pedophile blackmailer's abuses.
JPMorgan's $290 million settlement with Epstein accusers approved by US judge: https://www.reuters.com/legal/us-judge-weigh-jpmorgans-290-million-settlement-with-epstein-accusers-2023-11-09/
As you'll discover if you Google a bit, JP Morgan isn't the only bank who settled with Epstein survivors (Deutsche Bank coughed up 75 million) nor is this the only expensive settlement JPM made. While neither institution admitted any wrongdoing, you clearly don't understand how capitalism works if you think these folks just forked over enough money to buy their own island because of "rumors." This is of course on top of the $121M in settlements the Epstein Estate paid out, and doesn't include any settlements Epstein paid out after his 2008 conviction either - some of which are just now coming to light. Were these settlements part of a coverup themselves? Some of Epstein's victims believe so:

Please keep in mind, these are only the payouts related to Epstein himself that we know about. Have other rich and powerful men reached settlements with Epstein survivors to hide their crimes? At least one infamous person in a position to know says yes they have:

Folks, people wouldn't be working this hard and bleeding out this much money to silence Epstein's victims, if their testimony didn't have value as evidence. Sometimes it really is as simple as "following the money."
