So, UK energy secretary Ed Miliband & California’s Democratic governor Gavin Newsom have struck a deal on promoting clear energy in California & the UK, not least of all by seeking to share new technological developments.

On one hand this looks like Miliband doing his job as Energy Secretary, but in the fevered speculation about the future of Keir Starmer you cannot but wonder if this is him going for some international gravitas, for whatever reason(s)...

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @ChrisMayLA6 The 🍊💩 is most upset about this. I don’t think indvidual States can make trade agreements with other countries, but they can make memorandum of understanding, and agree to co-operate on various projects. Even this is too much for #POTUS; because he hates #Newsom. I don’t trust Newsom as he definitely blows with the wind, but he is good at riling #Trump.
