馃幁 Abandoned theatres and cinemas all over England. I have explored and photographed many of these fragile auditoriums over the last 10 years. Which one is your favourite?

Mine is the blue and lime green one, because it matches my hair!

The Royalty Cinema (blue and beige) is my favourite. I love 1930's architecture.

Ah that's my old hometown, it was a lovely building. Sadly it had a massive fire and it's nothing but a facade now. Heart breaking 馃挋

Bugger! It's a shame,e nobody came to its rescue earlier to revitalise it.

They are heart breaking pictures. I remember cinemas and theatres in UK like this long ago. Not just big cities but provincial towns.
They were places of comfort, excitement, fun and happy times. Designers went for more than just 'functional' and cheap.馃槬

If you ever come to Manchester, the Stockport Plaza is still very much in use. And absolutely gorgeous 馃挋

@ObsidianUrbex Yes, blue and lime for me, too. But the one with windows and semi-egyptian wall deco is great as well.

(Though I'm kinda sad that such splendid places are no longer used. Oh, well, I bet that in their heydey they would have been filled with tobacco smoke, making it impossible for me to enter, _anyway_.)

I do love a good dose of Egyptian design, quite common in 1920s stuff in the UK. Historically very interesting, really was "Egypt-mania" in the wake of Tutankhamen excavations

@ObsidianUrbex normally I love your photos, but these seem extra sad. *Wants to wave a restoration wand*

I liked the chandelier in that one, and the silver sunburst motif
