It's a bit early for #caturday but I just found out that at the CUS (university sports center) offices they have an armchair reserved for the local cat and I thought the Fediverse would like this piece of information.

I was feeling cranky as I’d woken up in the middle of the night and couldn’t get back to sleep.
@OneInterestingFact no problem, we all have our circumstances 8-) And I had been wondering if armchair was indeed the correct term: it didn't make much sense as it didn't have arms, but as a non-native English speaker chair didn't feel correct either (in Italian we'd call something so heavily cushioned a “poltroncina”, a diminutive of “poltrona”, which is an armchair).
It doesn't seem to me to really be a chair at all - it appears to be almost at floor level - but it's good that the university recognises the cat's right to rest without disturbance :)

@giuseppebilotta Our local tire shop has two cats that own the premises and allow human customers to enter and sit in a chair in the waiting room if neither cat is presently using them.
And they quite aggressively like to be worshiped.

@giuseppebilotta This is one very strange cat. Fancy using the chair reserved for it instead of occupying chairs (or draws or desks or storage containers or flower pots or ...) that you don't want it to use!
If we placed such a sign on our cat's favourite resting spot, it would no doubt react in anarchic disgust and decamp to a more unconventional location.
I mean really, it's almost as weird as a cat playing with its designated toy.
@markd I suspect they put the sticker while the cat is sleeping specifically to avoid the issue. They probably remove it when the cat wakes up so it doesn't suspect anything. Hopefully the cat won't come across this post, or the folks at the office will have been busted by my indiscretion ;-)

@emily_rugburn @akamran true. I had previously seen people feed him outside if the offices, and at one point the car standing next to the sliding doors (but not walking in even when people tried to keep the door open for it), so it was nice to see it has settled down and is being looked after 8-)
