While I also love 'Hackers' and its soundtrack, and strongly identify with Angela Bennett, the best hacker movie is 'Sneakers', period. Thirty years old last year, and still so very much on point.

I'm an English teacher in Italian state schools and I've been on the fediverse for at least 7-8 years, during which I have moved instance twice (this is my my third).

I knit , read Tarot 🃏 (mainly for myself), I love my garden , I feel a little buddhist ☸️ and a little something else altogether ☯️, I've been vegan and antispeciesist for the past 12 years

I take part in eco-veg-transfemminist assemblies trying to change this shitty world we live in. I swing between total despair and the willingness to put my energies to make things a little better.

Moby Dick is my favourite book, and I generally enjoy 19the century US literature.

I've had a blog since I was about 20.

At my day job, I develop software for laser machines.
In my free time, I break other people's software, try not to break my own hardware & software projects, and run my slightly overengineered homelab.

I'm not sure I possess sufficient self-awareness to do a proper #Introduction post. Besides, I'll be dead in 20 or 30 years so it hardly seems worth the effort.

I suppose I just want you to know that I love you, but in a very non-creepy way. Kind of like how you love your cousin that you haven't seen since you were ten, but you had a lot of fun together that one time. Except a bit less because we probably haven't met yet.

What I'm saying is that I'm mostly harmless. (RIP Douglas Adams)

I'm new(ish) here so "hello". I work in IT but used to be a traditional builder and am always happiest working with my hands and crafting things. I have multiple enthusiasms including art, #textileart #cyanotype and printmaking, sculpture (pottery, stone, cement, wire, wood, anything), designing and building things, gardening and bonsai. Here's some pics to try and give a flavour of the kind of things I get up to.
