While I'm no longer active in many commercial #SocialMedia platforms, as a #science communicator I still keep an eye on them to see how people (mis)understand #astronomy, and incorporate those lessons to my job.

Today Facebook crushed my soul with this abomination.

Our third release candidate for upcoming #GIMP 3.2 will feature a new splash image, made by astronomer @markmccaughrean (as were the first 2 RCs' splashes),

This #JWST image shows "a protostellar outflow complex called HH288, which we nicknamed The Dragon Jet some thirty years ago when we first discovered it using ground-based telescopes".
