I am not familiar with the website "Tattle Life", but both Ofcom and the ICO have written about it recently, seemingly following calls from MPs that the site should be stopped / blocked / taken down.

Ofcom:

Our response to letter of 9 February 2026 from MPs on Tattle Life

@neil I wonder how many of the MPs who wrote actually think that the regulators, and by extension the political class, should have the power to unilaterally “remove” websites. That’ll be what they’re asking for next.

@ret Yes, indeed.

But c.f. this, from last year:

The UK's proposed measures for court orders to suspend IP addresses and domain names

A while back, I wrote about the Crime and Policing bill, and powers in relation to SIM farms.

@neil MPs have a special power to demand Ofcom do something about particular sites? Do us mere serfs have that same ability? How long until we see MPs writing to Ofcom because they don’t like an unfavourable blog post about them? The slope gets slippier.

@neil and unfortunately OFCOM action is becoming like having an ASBO - a mark of status in some crowds.

@neil @etchedpixels I mean if you're outside your jurisdiction, I can well imagine it.

If I got legal threats from TinpotDictatorLand's regulator because *their* laws suddenly outlawed blogging about jigsaw puzzles, I'd probably stick that on the wall myself 😉

@neil certainly seems to be with the 4chan lot. Your site is only properly leet if you need a VPN to access it

@etchedpixels Hmm... perhaps! 4Chan's legal arguments, at least, are somewhat more nuanced...

@neil

It was in the news last week (first time I heard of it) for harassing the daughter of an ‘influencer’, who then committed suicide (it’s not clear that it was the only contributory factor in the suicide, but it was clearly partly to blame).

From a quick look around, it appears to be a "controversial gossip website", the subject of litigation relating to harassment.

It looks like the recent letters are prompted by someone dying by suicide following comments on that site.
